GOLF COURSE

Course conditions continue to improve while summer draws to a close. Our final greens aerification went well and with proper weather and maintenance, the greens should continue to thrive into the fall season. Topdressing and verticutting of greens will be reduced to what the weather allows and mowing heights will be adjusted accordingly. Thank you for your patience during these important cultural practices on our turf, overall health and aesthetics of turf is greatly improved with proper aerification practices and proper maintenance.
We are continuing to address weed and insect control around the course and grounds. Pest pressure has been greater than normal this year due to the current drought we have been experiencing. We have been working hard on the golf course cleaning up our playing surfaces of weed infestation. Our lagoon banks will be treated again with herbicides to help keep the edges of the course neat.
Club grounds will be fertilized and mulched for the fall season which should enhance the aesthetic value of our grounds. Some course and clubhouse beds will also be prepped for fall plantings as time allows.
Thank you for repairing divots and ball marks around the course. As always, if you have any questions about course conditions or maintenance, please don’t hesitate to call me on my cell. Hope to see you out on the course.
