THE TOP 10 EXCUSES PEOPLE GIVE NOT TO WORK OUT

1. My body hurts all the time. (Moving your body relieves the pain.)
2. I am so stressed. (Working out is your body’s way of releasing stress.)
3. I’m too busy over the holidays. (I know all the parties and all the eating?)
4. I can’t workout. I will be at the football game, Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest! (I guess the festival is your body?)
5. I have to go to work early. I have no time to workout. (The gym opens M-F at 4 am.)
6. I can’t get motivated enough to work out. (Have you looked in the mirror? That should do it.)
7. I am just going to cut all my carbs out. (Wait till you give that up. You will be a blow fish the minute you start eating carbs again.)
8. I don’t want to look bulkier than I already am! (How can that happen?)
9. I get bad cramps, headaches and back pain. (Exercising helps them all.)
10. The gym intimidates me. I feel like everyone is staring at me. (Yep. They are. They are trying to see if someone is staring at them.)

Please don’t let the “excuse” culprit be you! I see too many people crippling themselves with excuses as to why they look and feel bad. You are responsible for yourself, your life and health.

Listed below are 10 very valid reasons to commit to your health by exercising in 2012 that should be considered as important as breathing or eating or showering or going to work or feeding the pets or kids because if you don’t you might find yourself unable to do any of the above. Being sedentary increases your risk for cardiac events. Most of us probably know someone or have had a family member who has endured a cardiac event. They can literally change your life permanently in a matter of seconds. Working out can be fun and refreshing. If you just have the right mindset and eat the right foods your body will want you to move and be active. Your routine can be simple or as complex as you choose.

Exercise daily:

1. Increases blood flow to the brain.
2. Releases good endorphins that improve mental mood.
3. Improves circulation which promotes not only healthy skin but encourages all 10 of your body systems to be active.
4. Allows you to relax from the daily stresses of the day.
5. Improves bone strength.
6. Sets your body in motion for increased rate of metabolism of food.
7. Opens your mind to new hobbies.
8. Your sense of taste magnifies which encourages your palette to try new foods.
9. You feel lighter on your feet because your range of motion and posture have improved.
10. Improves sex drive.
